A healthy colon weighs in at around 4-5lb (2.25kg) and an unhealthy colon - as much as 40lb! (18kg) - it comes as no surprise that fasting is an excellent way to rid the body not only of waste matter, but also of unwanted weight that is dragging you down!

Average weight loss during a fast is around 8 pounds, approx. half a stone. However, several participants report a weight loss of up to 12 pounds in just one week!

Steady weight loss often continues after a fast - this is due to the fact that your whole intestinal system, including the metabolism and the absorption of nutrients, is working much more effectively.

If you started the fast being underweight then you will lose very little weight at all. We regularly find that underweight clients lose just a couple of pounds during the detox and once they get home, the body puts on that lost weight easily.

Once again, this is due to the entire system working at an improved level.
